WIFVNE is partnering with Lesley University's College of Art and Design to host a symposium with a group of industry professionals to talk about their experience, with emphasis on Film, Animation and VFX as well as Photo, Design, and other professionally related fields. 

WIFVNE President Alecia Orsini will moderate the panel.  Panelists include Diane Pearlman, Diana Levine, and Kat Castro.

About the panelists:

Katherine Castro

Recently selected for the American Film Institute Cinematography Intensive for Women in Los Angeles, Katherine is a New York City-based Cinematographer. After studying architecture and photography while living in the Dominican Republic Katherine returned to Boston in 2008 where she began working in film and TV as a Local 600 Camera Assistant. Applying her design and photography background along with the invaluable lessons she has acquired over the years working in production, Katherine brings a unique style and viewpoint to her cinematography.  Her work spans narrative, music video & documentary and has recently been screened in film festivals such as Indy Film Fest, Woods Hole Film Festival & Asian American International Film Festival in NYC.


Diana Levine

Diana Levine is an advertising and editorial photographer based in Boston, MA. Her clients include Rolling Stone, Billboard, Converse, The Clinton Foundation, and MTV, and she has photographed public figures like Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, President Obama, President Clinton, Kim Kardashian, Ludacris, and New Kids on the Block, and her work is available at dianalevine.com.


Diane Pearlman

Diane is an independent entertainment producer, studio executive and business woman with 30 years experience in media creation and production. Her specialty is digital film production, animation and feature film visual effects.  

Diane is currently serving as Executive Director of the Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative, an economic initiative dedicated to promoting and facilitating film and media production in the Berkshire region of western Massachusetts (www.berkshirefilm.org). She recently produced the award-winning short film, A Tree A Rock A Cloud, based on the short story by Carson McCullers, written and directed by actor, Karen Allen. Her current producing projects include the documentary Cowgirls Are Forever, for Barbara Newman and Nancy Novack; a screen adaptation of Edith Wharton’s novel, Summer, written and directed by feature film art director/production designer, Carl Sprague; a multi-media exhibit, Sound and Painting, with artist, Stephen Hannock; and co-producing the upcoming film, Mumbet, by local authors Jana Laiz and Ann-Elizabeth Barnes. Diane recently directed projects for 1Berkshire, the Berkshire United Way, and Hevreh of Southern Berkshire. She just completed producing the short, You Have A Voice for the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus/Berkshire Section.

Diane is a partner/producer/lead-writer in KinderMuse Entertainment, a developer of children’s and family entertainment. Their current slate of development projects includes feature film script, Max Art, children’s television projects, James Thurber’s Many Moons, Maddie’s World, Francie’s Toy Box Theater, Stink Monkeys, and a theatrical dramatic play, “Sharon’s Circle,” which had a staged reading at Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, MA.
